that's me

Like everyone else, I received my dogtag when I enlisted. I diligently followed instructions and covered both it and the chain. I then kept it that way throughout my service, often wondering why others hadn't covered theirs, or when they might have removed the covering. I know that many people lose theirs, though I don't know under what circumstances that might happen. Toward the end of my service I kept mine in my shirt pocket, and nobody seemed to mind that I didn't slip it over my head.
