losing count

Over the years we've had tens of electric cords around the house, almost all of them outliving their usefulness. Many of these are designed for 120 volts, and need a converter in order to fit our wall sockets. We probably have a few of these around the house as well, though I'm only sure of where one is.

Perhaps there's a valid excuse for taking so long to finally throw out the massager. After all, there really was an outside chance that we might want to use it again. Such an excuse, however, doesn't hold for the cord. Putting it through a step-down transformer could actually be a workable solution for using the massager, but a selectable voltage transformer, of the sort that we've got plenty in the house, would be even better.

So though the cord finally went to that great trash bin in the sky, along with the massager, it actually should have gone long ago.
