semi-useful tools

If there are items that make sense for me to keep inside my work bag, then writing utensils are most definitely among the most logical. It should thus come as no surprise that at any one time my bag carries about four pens, two mechanical pencils, and a couple of highlighters. That's not its capacity, that's what it has in it - content which rarely, if ever, changes.

I've always liked mechanical pencils, though I think that I've spent more time playing with them than actually writing with them.
Both of the mechanical pencils that I have in my bag stopped working long ago. The leads simply don't want to enter the cylinder through which they're supposed to pass in order to enable writing. In addition, their erasers have been lost, though if the pencils don't write, I guess the erasers aren't really necessary.

And though it might seem predictable, no, the ink in the highlighters hasn't run out. These are actually still functional. But I don't use them. The two left are from a set of four (they're usually sold that way), the other two of which are at home in the box of felt-tips that Hila uses. I can see the logic in using a highlighter (I've even very occasionally used them in my studies, long ago) but I can't seem to remember to search for one in my bag when the need arises. That being the case, I'm happy to let Hila keep two of them, holding on to the other two myself on the outside chance that I might even remember they're there when the need for them arises.
