Week 23:       August 22 - August 28, 1991

The books tell us that it's at around this time that your mother should be able to tell just what it is that's attacking her - either a hand of yours hitting, or a foot kicking. These sensations are new to her and she still isn't quite sure which is which, but during some of your more active hours I can very clearly feel you moving around in there, and your mother says that there have been occasions on which she's been able to see her stomach jumping from your activities. I can understand that you're excited about getting born - so are we - but you've still got quite a way to go and all of us will just have to be patient.

Have we told you that your mother has been behaving properly? After she seemed not to be gaining much weight in the earlier stage of her/your pregnancy she took doctor's orders to "get fat" quite seriously and started eating just about anything in sight. And this week it seems that doctor's orders are to slow down a bit. Maybe there can be enough of a good thing.

From the amount of jumping around you've been doing we've started to wonder if perhaps you've got a trampoline in there with you.
