Week 34:       November 7 - November 13, 1991

It wasn't only you that we were thinking of when we decided to get to a dance concert this week, but the truth is that considering how much you seem to love dancing around in your mother's womb, it sort of makes sense that you'd perhaps like to be a dancer. And considering how much we read that you can't start preparing your kids early enough for their future professions, perhaps pre-natal isn't too early. Since you didn't see the performances you'll have to believe us that they were very virtuosic. Forgive me if I tell you that they made your performances little more than kids' stuff, though we still appreciate them greatly.

You didn't see the performances, but the books tell us that it's at about this time that you're beginning to be able to distinguish between dark and light, and that's quite an achievement unto itself.

Before going to the dance concert, we went to have a look at you. This was the second time I've had a chance to see you via the ultrasound screen, and it was as exciting as the last time, though this time you're so big that your head alone fills up the whole screen and it takes much longer to see all of you. You'll be pleased to know that you've already assumed the head-down position, meaning that you're ready and waiting to make your appearance. I guess that this also means that all of the thrashing around that your mother is feeling is your arms and legs while you exercise - you don't seem to be swimming around and changing positions anymore. Oh, and one other thing, the scan confirmed that you've only got two arms and two legs, regardless of the impression that you give.

Your second photograph! Can you find the difference with your first ultrasound? Even we have to admit that it's not very easy.
