always a good idea

Actually, I learned Hebrew quite quickly - though perhaps I write that in retrospect. Back then, over thirty years ago, it was clear to me that if I was going to master the language, and integrate into Israeli society, it was going to be a slow process. Thus this 3X5 card [it reads: Patience], which was taped to a wall in my first rooms in Israel. Back then it served as a constant reminder that I was in for a long haul, and thus it was best to take a deep breath.


This card, like many other items, was rediscovered as I packed and moved, and even threw things away, in preparation for, and during, our remodeling
. Little did I know that it would be as accurate a reminder of the deep breath needed for our building as it was for its original purpose.
