worrying about me

Medics are expected to be able to function under conditions of chemical and biological warfare. That's apparently the reason that somewhere along the line the army decided to issue me a pair of prescription glasses that could be worn inside my gas mask. I don't recall precisely how I went about getting these - whether I was fitted for them, or whether someone checked my eyesite - but at some point I was given them, inside a hard plastic case. Although I diligently brought these glasses with me to each month of reserve duty, I don't think that after I received them anyone ever mentioned them, or knew that I had them, or thought to ask how I was supposed to wear my glasses inside my gas mask. It was nice to know, however, that at some point along the line someone in the army had actually thought about this.
