You started this week
off actively and visibly. We've been getting used to your evening
drumming concerts, and this week you started giving us dance concerts
as well. There we were, sitting and watching your mother's stomach
as you jumped up and down (who knows, maybe you were doing somersaults,
or jumping rope with the umbilical cord) and we could see the results
of your exercises as your mother's stomach erratically bumped and
jumped along with you. Quite a show, and we'll be tuning in often
for additional performances.
The books tell us that
you're growing rapidly - that you're about 30 cm. long and weigh
about half a kilogram. That should make you about the size of a
… actually, I'm really not sure what I should compare you to. Maybe
a large eggplant, though I admit that that's certainly not much
of a compliment. Still, that's about all that comes to mind.
To tell the truth, from
now until you're born you don't seem to be doing too much else other
than growing. The rapid development of all of your organs is behind
us - they're all in place and are now simply taking form and growing,
and growing and growing. The books tell us that your lungs aren't
yet sufficiently developed, and apparently your bone structure has
a lot of hardening to do, though we wouldn't really know that from
the amount of kicking around that you're doing.
