Week 27:       September 19 - September 25, 1991

If last week no news was good news, this week we can even confirm that officially. The gynecologist who checked your mother at the beginning of this week found that everything was fine - and we guess that that primarily means you.

Actually, everything seems to be going smoothly except the way we count the time that's elapsed since you were conceived. Not that that probably concerns you much, but we're always a bit confused about how the nine months of a pregnancy (you probably didn't even know it was nine months, nor exactly what a day is, let alone a week) are calculated. You see, a month isn't exactly four weeks - usually it's about half a week longer than that - so that a pregnancy of nine months is 40 weeks long when you're counting weeks. Does that confuse you? It probably doesn't even concern you, but we're always a bit unclear about this. Counting by weeks, however, as of this week we're now two thirds along the way toward D-day, and that means that your mother has entered the final trimester of your mutual pregnancy. Congratulations.

Calculating where we are in your mother's pregnancy can be pretty confusing, depending on whether we're counting by months, weeks or days.
