Week 33:       October 31 - November 6, 1991

You're definitely getting big. For quite a while already you've been fully formed, and from about now on until you make your appearance essentially all you're going to be doing is getting bigger and bigger. I don't know if that means that you feel comfortable in your rather cramped surroundings, but believe me, you're starting to make things difficult on your mother. Not very long ago we needed a magnifying glass to see your movements. Then it became easier and easier to spot you. Just a few weeks ago we used to excitedly watch your mother's stomach for the signs of you swimming around inside her. Now we hardly have to watch - even a stray glance will show your movements. Don't get me wrong. It's still a pleasure to see you moving around, but it's no longer cute little movements. Your movements can often be quite painful to your mother who has only so much room for you to move around in.

Your mother was at the gynecologist at the beginning of this week, and she reported to her that you've assumed a head down position. Good for you. The books say that it's at around this week that you should be doing that, and we like knowing that you're proceeding as scheduled. On the other hand, the gynecologist also said that you've still got lots of room in which to swim around and that you may still be changing your positions. Judging from how much you seem to have been doing battle with the walls of your mother's womb this past week, that certainly seems to be true as well.

Have you grown! We certainly no longer need a magnifying glass to see your movements anymore.
